Founded in 1990, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF)'s mission is to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in research and education on cheetahs and their eco-systems, working with all stakeholders to achieve best practice in the conservation and management of the world's cheetahs. As Namibia has the largest and healthiest population of cheetahs left in the world, CCF's International Research and Education Centre is based in Namibia, near Otjiwarongo. Belle Rose Finn was donated to the CCF for use as a Scat Detection Dog. This was done through a program sponsored by the Philadelphia Zoo, the country's oldest zoo.
